Breaking down our four semifinalists

We've hit the critical stage of the tournament, each country remaining has a strong chance to make the final, and to win it all. Each semifinalist has forged it's own unique path to get here, and each are deserving to be there. Each country has World-Class players and have very competent leadership and management. Here we break down the four team

France

As I've said for the last billion years, this team doesn't completely convince me yet. Maybe I'm asking too much from them, or I get too caught up nit-picking their faults. But being real here, they're the most talented team in the bunch. 

France has gone from its highs and lows, they played a conservative style of football in the group stage. Maybe they were playing it safe in their group, which was arguably the hardest on against Peru, Australia, and Denmark.

Until France EXPLODED against Argentina and ended their World Cup faster than Mbappe's counterattack. That 4-3 frenzy was a wild game from start to finish, only to follow that game up with a dull 2-0 win against Uruguay. 

Belgium

This team is GOOD. If not for their inconsistent midfield, they would be my favorite. Their weak midfield tends to disappear in games, and leaves vulnerable their line-of-3 defense. Japan clearly exposed this fault in the Round of 16, their structured play left Belgium in a deep 2-0 hole. Their long-ball style of play and passing left the midfield virtually useless, and it took all the attacking power, and Fellaini, to save the game. 

Roberto Martinez is one of those crazy, unpredictable coaches who are the mad scientists of tactics and football. He's freed up Belgium's attack to crazy levels. This team has scored the most goals this tournament nad have had the most shots. Hazard has space to operate in the attack to set plays or cut inside. Lukaku on the counter attack is nearly impossible with his speed, strength, and technical ability. Martinez moved De Bruyne further up the field against Brazil, which gave him more space to move around the field and create plays. 

This team can win the entire thing, if the pieces fall into place and they do not crack under the pressure, like they have done to in the past.

Croatia

Croatia have fought, scrapped, and earned their way into the semi-finals. They have shocked much of the football world, including myself because I didn't expect them to even make it out of the group stage. Led by the tiny midfield general Luka Modric, this team has proven that they deserve to be in this position. They have the talent at their disposal, Modric and Rakitic man the middle, Perisic on the wing, and Mandzukic up top. 

They dominated Argentina 3-0, ended up first in their group. They played with passion against Denmark, and beat Russia in dramatic fashion to make it to the Semis. Croatia play cohesively and cause cause much danger against England with possession and their passing. 

England

The chants of "Football's coming home" have rung in my ears for nearly 3 weeks so far. It's quite annoying in all honesty. But England finally has hope once more and let them enjoy the moment. England hasn't had hope since 1990, the last time they made it to the semis. 

Okay England hasn't won a World Cup since 1966, so let's do the math... It's been a lot of time since. then. This team is young, talented, and capable of pulling off two more matches to lift the trophy once more. Harry Kane is a World-Class striker, and he leads the WC with 6 goals. England has also scored the most set piece goals this WC as well. This team has the speed and the tactics in stop play to score goals, who says they can't make it far?
Yeah England broke my heart, and sure I wish for Croatia to send them home crying, but hypothetically, if they make the final, all it would take is a perfect 90 minutes to repeat the joy of '66.
