It's a little over a day away from the World Cup. As a result, I'm going to get specific into my predictions for this summer's WC. Last week, I posted my opinion on each team's roster and my thoughts on their talents. Now, I will post my official predictions of important topics such as winner, Golden Ball, Dolden Boot, Biggest disappointment and Biggest surprise.

I've been putting my money on Neymar since the beginning of my blog. I feel this is the right time to see Neymar take off and make a mark. While not a true goalscorer, he has plenty of freedom in the attack to move around and create space or make plays. Alongside Gabriel Jesus as forwards, both can play off each other to score goals. In fact, Neymar ended in 3rd in 2014 for the Golden Boot.
Poland can be a surprise in my opinion. Placed in one of the easier groups in the tournament, they have a strong chance to qualify to the next round. Led by Robert Lewandowski and a strong supporting cast, this team could play solid this tournament. Depending of their position, they could (likely) face either England and Belgium, two inconsistent teams at times, in the Round of 16. If Poland gets a lucky break, who says they can't make the quarter-finals?
Croatia is a team gifted with talent all around. They have well-rounded players all across the lineup, in both the attack and defense. Their midfield players are well-known and star packed. Regardless, they have had issues in the past meshing together and playing cohesively. They had a weak showing in the Euro 2016 and experienced an internal meltdown in the Euro Cup. This crisis within the National Federation has alienated fans due to political issues and corruption.
Croatia was placed in arguably the hardest group, and Iceland looks like a huge threat to their qualification chances. I can see a poor showing in the group stage against Argentina and Iceland, leading to a third place finish in their group. And disappointing considering talents such as Modric and Rakitic on their squad.
